I always like to project my thoughts into the future. For instance, I like to guess at what I will be doing and where I will be in years to come. We certainly don’t know our days, but God does!
Psalm 37:18 says, “The Lord knows the days of the blameless and their inheritance will be forever.”
The verse before it says, “The Lord sustains the righteous.” Awesome! In a world where anything can happen, it sure is good to know that God “has our back”!
He is the one we can keep our confidence in! Meditate on the fact that “God is your confidence”. In fact, be very suspicious of anything that contradicts what God says in his Word.
The apostle Paul said, “we are the true circumcision, who worship in the Spirit of God and glory in Christ Jesus and put no confidence in the flesh” (Philippians 3:3). Paul was one who could boast! He had many things going for him, but he gave it all up. He said, “whatever things were gain to me, those things I have counted as loss for the sake of Christ.” (Philippians 3:7). Paul could see that trusting God is a “sure thing”!
Many things will take place in your life this coming year. Instead of falling back on what you know, what you have, or what you can do, choose to focus on Jesus and place your confidence in him who will never disappoint! We appreciate your Comments
